Anytime we get to check out a product from Dr. Dabber we’re over the moon excited! We’ve already reviewed the Boost and it absolutely blew us out of the water. Today, we’re reviewing the latest edition; the Dr. Dabber Boost EVO. A smaller, sleeker version that’s exclusively used for concentrates. No worries, it still has plenty of RGB lights!

Dr Dabber Boost EVO Review

The Boost EVO is a top of the line portable dab rig, as such it comes with the hefty price tag of $329.95 USD. Quality is top tier, the design is attractive and ergonomic, and the battery life is extremely impressive (up to 60 hits per charge). It has a nice balance of ease of use and personalization options. Overall I was thoroughly impressed with the quality and performance but the price could turn some people off.

Found in the box:

  • Dr Dabber Boost EVO vaporizer
  • Glass bubbler attachment
  • Quartz atomizer
  • USB-C Charging cable
  • Dr Dabber loading tool
  • Secure travel / storage case

First of all we have to talk about the quality of the Boost EVO, from the packaging to the unit itself we were very impressed! The case itself is a hard-foam that securely fits each piece of the EVO, with a slide-lock mechanism for extra security.

The vaporizer itself consists of the glass bubbler portion, a magnetic collar with an easy to use airflow button which the bubbler fits into. Lastly the base itself where the oven / battery is located. The oven / atomizer can be removed easily for easy replacement if necessary. However if you do require a replacement atomizer it is sold separately, you only get the 1 in the Boost EVO kit.

The magnetic adapter / collar uses a pretty powerful magnet, so no need to worry about it accidentally getting knocked off. You will need to be cautious when removing / placing the adapter on the base because of how strong the magnet is. No one wants to fling a glass bubbler across their room by accident.

I can’t overstate how much I liked the feel of the EVO. While it’s small enough to fit comfortably in the hand and not take up much real estate on your desk, it still feels substantial and sturdy. The quality of materials used is impressive which is very nice to see considering the price point of the EVO. Dr. Dabber really does set the bar high.

Now in terms of actual functionality, the EVO comes programmed with 6 temperature settings ranging from 500° F to 750° F. While there isn’t complete temperature control freedom, you do get a good range of temperatures to choose from and the unit itself is very sleek thanks to the one button design.

In order to use the EVO you’ll need to remove the magnetic collar / bubbler portion to reveal the atomizer. Place the extract in the oven and replace the collar / bubbler. Turn the unit on and wait for it to reach temperature (~10 seconds), inhale and enjoy! Simple and effective.

At lower temperatures (which is where I prefer to dab) you get full, rich flavor with a comfortable amount of vapor. Fine tuned with the air-flow button, I was getting great hauls in no time with the EVO. If huge clouds and face melting dabs are more your style, the EVO offers that too! Simply dial up the temperature and you can blast off to another planet in ~10 seconds.

The battery life is impressive, giving users dozens of full hauls between charges. If you find yourself thirsty for a dab and you forgot to charge the EVO, no problem. USB-C pass-through charging means you can plug it in and start using the unit mid charge.

RGB junkies rejoice! The EVO can single handedly put on a dance party with its RGB modes, completely unnecessary but quite fun! If you’re looking for something a bit more subtle, then you can put it in stealth mode for a less flashy session.

To summarize, the Boost EVO is an absolute beast! Yes it is pricey. But you really do get what you pay for. Anything $300+ is a hard pill to swallow (for my cheap ass anyway), but you will not be disappointed. Plus you get a solid 1-year warranty from a well respected company for complete peace of mind. 10/10 would recommend!
